We are here to tell you everything worth noting about the different fashion weeks held this year so far.

Fashion experts have been in awe of the new collections launched by various designers at the four most awaited and reputable fashion weeks. The fashion shows were phygital that means there were both physical and digital demonstrations of the collections. While in the Paris Fashion Week that held around february this year, we witnessed a lot of power dressing. Bold jackets and bodysuits gave the boss vibes. New york fashion week was a hit as well as it portrayed some of the most interesting 2022 spring collections. London fashion week was all about quirky prints on dresses and skirts and unconventional print on print styles. Milan fashion week presented us with all the metallic colours and bold designs.

Let us delve deep and know exactly what happened at all of these fashion weeks -

1 Paris Fashion Week -

Paris is the city that is considered to be the hub for fashion. Therefore, it is obvious that we are starting with the fashion show from the city which is the home of various luxury brand labels.

Mugler - For fall 2021, Casey Cadwallader displayed a mini film with a star-studded cast like Hunter Schaefer, Dominique Jackson, Alek Wek, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, and many more. They wore outfits with sultry bonded lycra bodysuits, bold-shouldered jackets with sleek cutouts, and form-hugging jersey dresses.

Off-White - Virgil Abloh is fostering a sense of community among creatives and celebrating inclusivity through his collection titled Adam and Eve. Abloh focused on style essentials, but with a twist. You will notice Sharply tailored suits in lime green under a streamlined coat in violet lamé; sleek, flesh-colored knit frocks with cutouts at the hips and shoulders; and halterneck pleated dresses in vivid hues over fitted jackets and trousers.

A lot of other ace designer brands like Alexander Mcqueen by Sarah Burton, Saint Laurent, Celine, and Raf Simons unveiled their collections for Fall 2021. Each of these collections had different inspirations but they collectively surely set the ramp on fire.

2 New York Fashion Week -

New York fashion week 2021 that portrayed the spring/summer collection 2022 was a big thumbs up. We saw a lot of iconic designs and outfits. Bralettes are making their way stronger in 2022. Lace dresses and long yet casual gowns stole the show. Fun and electrifying colours will paint the year 2022. A lot of design options in pants were also witnessed. Mini skirts, cut-out skirts were the attraction points. Co-ord sets were yet again experimented with and they were not at all disappointing. All in all, New York fashion week got us excited for the summer of 2022.

3 London Fashion Week-

There were a lot of up-and-coming designers who showcased at the London Fashion Week 2021.

New Gen 2021 designer Robyn Lynch showcased their non-seasonal menswear collection, made with upcycled deadstock fabric.

Designer duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi showcased their resort collection as a film during London Fashion Week. It is believed that the designers took inspiration from Cecil Beaton's photos of theatrical entertainment and costume parties. There were a lot of ruffled collars made with sheer fabric, dresses with poofy skirts and statement sleeves to add to the magic of the 1920s era.

Foraying into digital fashion, UK-based label Auroboros debuted its RTW collection titled Biomimicry at the London Fashion Week. The futuristic pieces were all virtual and it was zero waste produce.

No Loungewear was witnessed during the entire show. Although designers were inspired by a lot of different things, we found a similarity in all of them, and that is the concept of ‘Less is more’.

4 Milano Fashion Week -

Milano Fashion Week returns to the city, the fabulous Made-in-Italy platform where all the great designers present their semi-annual collections. This fashion week will pay homage to the most famous names in international fashion alongside budding newcomers ready to amaze with their innovative collections.

The runway shows will feature prestigious names such as Prada, Versace, Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Alberta Ferretti, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro and many more. Metallic colours were definitely a point to remember from the entire show. Cutout dresses, skirts and tops, paired up with interesting overlays were witnessed. Bold colours and designs were something you can’t ignore. Interesting Colour blocking in two-piece sets was appreciable. Lace necklines were seen making their way back and it was exciting. .

In all the fashion shows that happened in 2021, we saw that the designers let their creative juices flow and took inspiration from a lot of arenas. A focal point in all these collections was sustainability. It was always a matter of great importance for all the top-class brands to also not cause harm to the environment in their way of moving forward.
